Let \(K\) be an algebraic function field with constant field \(k\), genus \(g_K\geq 2\) and automorphism group \(G\). The representation of the finite group \(G\) induced by \(\Omega_K\), the \(k\)-space of holomorphic differentials of \(K\), is well known for \(\text{char}\,k=0\) and for \(\text{char}\,k =p\), supposing that \(p \nmid |G|\). The present paper investigates the situation where \(K\) is a cyclotomic function field and \(k=\mathbb F_q\) with \(q\) sufficiently large. In Theorem~1 an explicit \(\mathbb F_q\)-basis for \(\Omega_K\) is given, which is used to describe the representation of \(G\) in Theorem~2.
