The paper introduces a novel \(\boldsymbol{H}(\mathbf{curl})\)-reconstruction operator for piecewise polynomial fields on simplicial meshes, utilizing vertex patches, partitions of unity, and local Helmholtz decompositions to bound errors for Maxwell's equations. Reconstruction operator is built over mesh vertex patches using hat basis functions and local Helmholtz decompositions. Error bounds are derived that measures differences between reconstructed \(\boldsymbol{H}_0(\mathbf{curl})\) fields and original fields via broken curl and \({L}^{2}\) norm. The (symmetric) interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin (dG) method is considered for space discretization. The \(hp\)-a posteriori error analysis is applied to Maxwell's equation involving the curl-curl operator and a zero-order term.
