Let \(\mathcal S\) denote a locally compact semigroup and \(M_a ({\mathcal S})\) the set of all measures \(\mu\) for which the maps \(x \rightarrow \delta_x*|\mu|\) and \(x \rightarrow |\mu|*\delta_ x\) are weakly continuous. This paper discusses the inner amenability of \({\mathcal S}\) in terms of the fixed point property. The main theorem reads as follows: If \(\mathcal M \subseteq M ({\mathcal S})\) is a left S module, where S is a foundation semigroup, then the following are equivalent: (a) \(\mathcal S\) is \({\mathcal M}\)-inner amenable. (b) Every left \({\mathcal S}\) module \(X\) has the \({\mathcal M}\) fixed point property. (c) \(M_a ({\mathcal S})\) has the \({\mathcal M}\) fixed point property.
