The authors characterize contact spaces which are isomorphic to some geometry of plane sections of a quadratic set of rank at least 5 by means of a new incidence proposition together with some richness conditions. The incidence proposition states that for any three chains that meet pairwise and two pairs of them meet intensively, then the third pair also meets intensively. Two chains \(A\) and \(B\) are said to \textit{meet intensively}, (see p.~537), if they meet in exactly two points or if \(ApB\) for some point \(p\) (that means `\(A\) touches \(B\) in \(p\)', see p.~535).
