The art of paper folding has a long and successful history in mathematics teaching, especially in elementary school. But paper folding can also contribute to interesting learning environments at secondary level and in teacher education. Educational potential and the variety of mathematical fields which can be connected with Origami are described in detail in sections 2 and 3 of the article. Section 4 describes the actual folding of a primeval saurian and discusses the many aspects of elementary geometry that arise in the folding process. In section 5 the folding of ``modular Origami'' leads to a variety of concepts in solid geometry.
