The author considers the following functional differential equation \[ x''+g(t,x,x_t)x'+h(t,x,x_t)=0 \] to study the number of zeros of solutions of this equation. He obtains a sufficient condition for the existence of at most one zero of solutions on an interval and also estimate the maximum number of zeros of solutions on a large interval. Two examples are provided to illustrate these results.
