In this paper, a class of semiregular polyhedra (or Archimedean solids) in hyperbolic (or Lobachevsky) space is generated from semiregular hyperbolic plane tilings, just as a class of semiregular polyhedra in Euclidean space could be inherently given rise by the semiregular spherical tilings. The paper gives techniques for constructing semiregular hyperbolic tilings, partly from the regular ones and partly by using Fuchsian groups. The paper is well illustrated by 27 figures, with some of which being reproduced from the following two books by \textit{L. Fejes Tóth}: [Lagerungen in der Ebene, auf der Kugel und im Raum. Berlin-Göttingen-Heidelberg: Springer-Verlag (1953; Zbl 0052.18401); Regular figures. Oxford etc.: Pergamon Press (1964; Zbl 0134.15705)]. Actually, new regular 2-dimensional polyhedra exist not only in the hyperbolic plane but also in Euclidean 4-space. In particular, reviewer's result [Geombinatorics 24, No. 1, 11--20 (2014; Zbl 1312.51007)] includes an infinite series of regular toroidal polyhedra inscribed in the Clifford 2-torus in Euclidean 4-space, just as the five regular spherical polyhedra are inscribed in the 2-sphere in 3-space.
