An immersion \(x:M^n\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{n+p}\) is called \textit{a self-shrinker} if it satisfies the quasi-linear elliptic system \(H=-x^{\bot}\) where \(H\) is the mean curvature vector field and \(\bot\) denotes the projection onto the normal bundle of \(M\). Self-shrinkers play an important rôle in the study of the mean curvature flow. The present paper has two parts. The first is devoted to recast a result of \textit{K. Smoczyk} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2005, No. 48, 2983--3004 (2005; Zbl 1085.53059)] under a weaker condition. In the second part there are given some rigidity properties of self-shrinkers with higher codimension.
