Convolutions and convolution of integral transforms are useful in analysis and applications (see [\textit{I. H. Dimovski} and \textit{S. L. Kalla}, Math. Jap. 33, No. 3, 345--351 (1988; Zbl 0649.44001); \textit{S. B. Yakubovich} and \textit{S. L. Kalla}, Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 16, No. 3, 435--448 (1993; Zbl 0783.44004)]). This paper deals with a generalized convolution with a weight function for the Hartley and Fourier cosine transforms. This work is motivated by a general scheme proposed by \textit{V. A. Kakichev} and \textit{Nguyen Xuan Thao} [Russ. Math. 42, No. 1, 29--38 (1998); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 1998, No. 1, 31--40 (1998; Zbl 0930.45003)]. Further, the generalized convolution is applied to solve a class of integral equations and systems of integral equations.
