    The author answers two questions raised in [\textit{K. Dekimpe} et al., J. Algebra 369, 70--95 (2012; Zbl 1271.20064); addendum 373, 439--440 (2013)]. More precisely, he shows that his results in [\textit{J. Huebschmann}, J. Algebra 72, 296--334 (1981; Zbl 0443.18018)] and [J. Reine Angew. Math. 321, 150--172 (1981; Zbl 0441.20033)] provide the answers as two specific instances. Given a group extension \(1\to N\to G\to Q\to 1\) and a \(G\)-module \(M\), the author proves the following: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[(i)] The homomorphism \(\text{tr}: H^1(N,M)^Q\to H^2(Q,M^N)\) constructed by K. Dekimpe et al. [Zbl 1271.20064] coincides with the second differential \(d_2\) of the spectral sequence \((E^{p,q}_r(M),d_r)\); \item [(ii)] The homomorphism \(\rho: H^2(G,M)_1\to H^1(Q,H^1(N,M))\) constructed by K. Dekimpe et al. [Zbl 1271.20064] coincides with the canonical homomorphism \(\text{can}: H^2(G,M)_1\to H^1(Q,H^1(N,M))\) arising from the spectral sequence \((E^{p,q}_r(M),d_r)\). Here \(H^2(G,M)_1\) denotes the kernel of the restriction map \(H^2(G,M)\to H^2(N,M)^Q\). \end{itemize}}
