The concept of prime-perspectivity is introduced and the so-called Prime-projectivity Lemma is proved for finite lattices. It says that in a finite lattice a congruence spreads from a prime interval to another one by a sequence of prime-perspectivities through prime intervals. A planar semimodular lattice is called slim if it does not contain \(M_3\) as a sublattice. The author proves the so-called Swing Lemma which is a very strong version of Prime-projectivity Lemma for slim, planar and semimodular finite lattices.
