Nonlinear maximal monotone extensions of symmetric operators (Q746765)

Let \(S\) be a semi-bounded symmetric (linear) operator on the Hilbert space. In the present paper, the author constructs nonlinear maximal monotone operators \(A_\Theta\) such that \(S\subset A_\Theta\subset S^\ast\) (Theorem 3.4, Remark 3.5). Moreover, \(A_\Theta +A\) is a subpotential operator whenever \(\Theta\) is subpotential (Theorem 4.2, Remark 4.3). Applications to Laplacians with nonlinear singular perturbations on null sets and to Laplacians with nonlinear boundary conditions on a bounded set are given.
