The author studies the problem of re-constructing by a gluing technique a singular solution of certain elliptic partial differential equations realized as the limit of a one-parameter \(s\)-family of non-singular solutions. This is known to be true for a certain type of instantons and pseudo-holomorphic curves, for example. The author intends to obtain this kind of uniqueness result for calibrated submanifolds of higher dimension. Inspired by Donaldson's arguments with instantons, and the particular situation proved by Joyce on compact special Lagrangian submanifolds with isolated conical singularities using a desingularization procedure, he proves a refined version (for the non flat case) of the following main Theorem 1.1, generalizing Joyce's case: Given a calibration \(\phi\) of degree \(m\) on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and a \(\phi\)-calibrated smooth cone \(CX\) with \(X=CX\cap S^{n-1}\) a compact submanifold of the \((n-1)\)-sphere, and a properly-embedded \(\phi\)-calibrated submanifold \(M\) of the annulus \(B(1)\backslash \bar{B}(s)\) for a fixed \(0<s<1\) with boundary lying on \(\partial B(1) \cup \partial{B(s)}\), if the intersections of \(\partial M\) with \(\partial B(1)\) and with \(\partial B(s)\) are both \(C^1\)-close to that of \(CX\) with \(\partial B(1)\) and \(\partial B(s)\) respectively, then \(M\) is also \(C^1\)-close to the intersection of \(CX\) with the annulus. The proof uses a monotonicity formula for the function on extrinsic spheres of radius \(\rho\) of the calibrated submanifold \(M\) of the annulus, given by \[ \int_{M\cap \partial B(\rho)}r^{1-m}\partial_r \lrcorner \phi, \] where \(r\) is the radial function, and uses Simon's estimates for smooth sections \(u(t,x)\) of a vector bundle over a compact Riemannian manifold satisfying a certain type of second-order partial differential equation. This result together with another preprint of the author [``Surjectivity of a gluing for stable \(T^2\)-cones in special Lagrangian geometry'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1112.4309}] gives the uniqueness for some particular cases.
