The principal result (Theorem A) is worth noting explicitly: The zeroes of the Alexander polynomial of a Lorenz knot all lie in an annulus around the unit circle with outer (inner, resp.) radius \((2g)^{\pm 4/(b-1)}\), where \(g\) is the genus and \(b\) is the braid index of the knot. The description of a Lorenz knot via a Young diagram by an associated positive braid allows to span the knot by a suitably chosen iterated Murasugi sum of positive Hopf bands as a Seifert surface that is a fiber of the knot fibration. By tracing the cycles of an appropriate homology basis under the monodromy map, the author obtains sufficient information on the monodromy eigenvalues which are the zeroes of the Alexander polynomial.
