On basic properties of convex functions and convex integrands (Q749861)

This paper presents some new, fundamental results on the convergence of the infima of a sequence of convex functions which converges only pointwise. Similar results are also given for the associated Fenchel conjugates. These results, proven by means of the Baire category theorem, are applied to convex integral functionals of the continuous sum type. Marginal improvements of familiar results about such integral functionals are obtained in this way.
