As has been pointed out by \textit{J. Hebda} [An example relevant to curvature pinching theorems for Riemannian foliations (to appear)], the main theorem of our paper [ibid. 27, No.3, 461-475 (1988; Zbl 0613.53013)] is not correct as stated. In the theorem on p. 461 the assumption \(``\pi_ 1(K)\) finite, i.e. K semisimple'' should be added.
