This paper contains five sections: 1. Causality conditions in Lorentz manifolds; 2. Causality in homogeneous Lorentz manifolds; 3. A general scheme for the study of Lorentzian Lie groups; 4. Some general statements regarding the left-invariant Lorentz metrics; 5. The curvature, the geodesics and the causal structure of a family of left-invariant Lorentz metrics on the oscillator's group.
