An interval map is said to be chaotic in Li-Yorke's sense if it has orbits of infinitely many periods, and a so-called chaotic set exists which consists of points which show a special kind of ``chaotic'' behavior. It was shown that if the map has a periodic orbit of period which is not an integer power of 2, then it is chaotic. On the other hand, it is known that there are maps with power of 2 periods only which are chaotic. The paper shows that if the chaotic set can be chosen to contain only non-wandering points, this already implies the existence of an orbit with the period not a power of 2. The proof is brief and quite elementary.
