A very famous result, known as the F. and M. Riesz theorem, states that if m is a finite measure on the n-dimensional euclidean space, such that its Fourier transform is supported in a proper closed convex cone, then m is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure. In the paper under review the author shows that the hypothesis on the support of the Fourier transform of m can be replaced by a more accurate condition which relies on the notion of wave front set. More precisely, the author shows that if the wave front set WF(m) of m does not intersect (-WF(m)), then m is absolutely continuous, and, moreover, m is in the local \(H^ 1\) space introduced by \textit{D. Goldberg} [Duke Math. J. 46, 27-42 (1979; Zbl 0409.46060)].
