For the nonlinear differential equation \([m\{y(x,\lambda)\}y'(x,\lambda)]'=\lambda^ 2f\{y(x,\lambda)\}\) on \(0\leq x\leq 1\) with boundary conditions \(y(0,\lambda)=0\), \(y(1,\lambda)=a(\lambda)\), \(y'(0,\lambda)=b(\lambda)\) the author shows that if f(t), a(\(\lambda\)) and b(\(\lambda\)) are given functions with \(a(0)=0\), \(a'(\lambda)>0\), \(b(\lambda)=\lambda g(\lambda)>0\), \(f(t)>0\) the inverse problem has at most one solution \(\{\) m(t),y(x,\(\lambda\))\(\}\).
