The concept of gauge equivalence for completely integrable \((1+1)\)- dimensional nonlinear equations was introduced by Zakharov and Mikhajlov. In the work by \textit{V. E. Zakharov} and \textit{L. A. Takhtadzhyan} [Teor. Mat. Fiz. 38, No.1, 33-37 (1979)] an interesting example of this concept was produced, namely a connection was given between solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (in the case of attraction) and the continuous version of Heisenberg isotropic magnetics. In the present paper, we construct the \((2+1)\)-dimensional analog of this example, i.e., we establish the gauge equivalence of the Davy-Stewart equations (DS) \[ (1)\quad -iu_ t+u_{xx}+\alpha^{-2}u_{yy}+\kappa uv-2\kappa \alpha^{-2}| u|^ 2=0,\quad v_{yy}-\alpha^ 2v_{xx}=- 4(| u|^ 2)_{xx} \] and the exactly solvable two- dimensionalized version of Heisenberg magnetics (Ishimori model IM) \[ (2)\quad S_ t=S\wedge (S_{xx}+\alpha^{-2}S_{yy})+\Phi_ xS_ y+\Phi_ yS_ x,\quad \Phi_{yy}-\alpha^ 2\Phi_{xx}=2\alpha^ 2S(S_ x\wedge S_ y),\quad S^ 2=1. \] It is assumed that the Cauchy data for (1), (2) belong to the class \(C^{\infty}({\mathbb{R}}^ 2)\) and as \(r\to \infty\), \(u=O(1/r)\), \(S=(0,0,1)(1+O(1/r))\).
