Cubical surfaces and congruences (Q753148)

The results of different authors on the geometry of the manifolds of algebraic elements are introduced. Further the author studies a one- parametric system of planar nonsingular cubics in the projective space \(P_ 3\). Such a system is called a cubical surface. The canonical frame of this manifold is constructed and the geometric properties of the vertices and edges of the frame are introduced. The properties of invariants of the cubical surfaces are found. Some special cases of cubical surfaces are studied. Particularly cubical surfaces whose generators have nods, isolated points or cusps are considered. A two- parametric system of nonsingular planar cubics in \(P_ 3\) whose planes form a two-parametric family is called a cubical congruence. Some properties of invariants of such a manifold are found. Some special classes of cubical congruences are studied.
