In a half-strip \(D=\{(x,y):\) \(0<x<1\), \(0<y<\infty \}\) including the points (0,0) and (1,0) consider the Euler-Poisson equation \[ (1)\quad u_{xx}+u_{yy}+(k/y)u_ y=0;\quad -\infty <k<\infty. \] The Dirichlet problem is to find a regular solution of the equation (1), continuous in \(\bar D-\{y=0\}\), vanishing at infinity and satisfying the boundary conditions: \[ u(0,y)=\phi_ 1(y),\quad u(1,y)=\phi_ 2(y),\quad 0\leq y<\infty;\quad u(x,0)=\tau_ 1(x),\quad 0\leq x\leq 1,\quad k<1 \] \[ \lim_{y\to +0}(\ln y)^{-1}u(x,y)=\tau_ 2(x),\quad 0\leq x\leq 1,\quad k=1;\quad \lim_{y\to +0}y^{k-1}u(x,y)=\tau_ 3(x),\quad 0\leq x\leq 1,\quad k>1 \] with given functions \(\phi_ n(y)\) continuous for \(0\leq y\leq \infty\) with \(y^{k/2}\phi_ 1(y)\), \(y^{k/2}\phi_ 2(y)\in L(0,\infty)\), \(\tau_ 1(x)\)-continuous, \(\tau_ j'(x)\)-absolutely integrable in [0,1] and also \(\phi_ 1(0)=\phi_ 2(0)=\tau_ j(0)=\tau_ j'(1)=0\). The author proves an existence and uniqueness theorem. Also the Neumann problem is considered.
