Characteristic Cauchy problems and analytic continuation of holomorphic solutions (Q757725)

This paper is concerned with the analytic continuation of holomorphic solutions of a linear partial differential equation of order m in a complex domain. The sufficient conditions for the solution of the analytic continuation problem are given, when the boundary of the domain contains a characteristic hyperplane. The proof is based on a Cauchy- Kowalewsky type theorem for a Cauchy problem with m-1 data given on a characteristic hyperplane.
