This paper extends results of the first author [ibid. 145, 365-370 (1990; Zbl 0717.40008)]. Let f and hf be continuous increasing functions with \(f(\alpha)>1\), \(h(\alpha)>0\), h(x)f(x)\(\to \infty\) as \(x\to \infty\); let \(\int^{\infty}_{\alpha}1/\{h(x)f^ n(x)\}dx\) diverge for \(n=N\) and converge for \(n=N+1\). For real \(\lambda\) let J(\(\lambda\)) be the integral over (\(\alpha\),\(\infty)\) of a quotient with numerator sin \(\lambda\) x, denominator \(h(x)(f(x)+\sin (x));\) K(x), the corresponding integral with the sine replaced by a cosine. Then J(\(\lambda\)) converges unless \(\lambda\) is an odd integer and \(| \lambda | <N\); K(\(\lambda\)) converges unless \(\lambda\) is an even integer and \(| \lambda | <N\). Several interesting examples are given.
