Let L(X) be the Banach algebra of all continuous linear endomorphisms on a Banach space X. The main result of this paper is the following. Theorem 1.1: There exists a separable superreflexive Banach space Y with the following properties: (1) Y has a finite-dimensional decomposition; (2) L(Y) admits a continuous endomorphism onto the Banach algebra C(\(\beta\) N); (3) for every \(t\in {\mathbb{R}}\) there is a projection \(P_ t\in L(Y)\) and a linear multiplicative functional \(\phi_ t\) on L(Y) such that for every \(t_ 1,t_ 2\in {\mathbb{R}}\), \(\phi_{t_ 2}(P_{t_ 2})=1\) for \(t_ 1=t_ 2\) and \(=0\) otherwise, where C(\(\beta\) \({\mathbb{N}})\) denotes the Banach algebra of all continuous scalar-valued functions on \(\beta\) \({\mathbb{N}}\) equipped with the supremum norm. We cite some corollaries. Corollary 6.5: The space Y is not isomorphic to any finite Cartesian power of any Banach space. Corollary 6.7: The cardinality of the set of all linear multiplicative functionals on L(Y) is equal to the cardinality of the set of all continuous linear functionals on L(Y) \((=2^{\aleph})\).
