Heating of a heat conducting micropolar fluid due to viscous energy dissipation has been studied analytically for Couette and Poiseuille flows. The allowance for the internal structure of a fluid in calculating its dissipative heating under certain conditions exhibits an appreciable increase in temperature for Couette flows and its decrease, for Poiseuille flows.
