It is shown that for linear time-invariant discrete-time systems 1) the use of time-varying periodic feedback of the state at the beginning of the period enables one to realize not only arbitrary invariant factors but even any transition matrix; 2) the use of time-varying periodic feedback of the present state (static feedback) enables one to realize arbitrary invariant factors. Some extensions for continuous-time systems are also given.
