    Let \(\Delta(x)=\sum_{n\leq x}\Lambda(n)-x\), where \(\Lambda(n)\) is the von Mangoldt function. If the Riemann Hypothesis is true, then it is well-known that \(\Delta(x)\ll x^{1/2} \log^ 2x\). The author generalizes this result by providing a simple proof of \[ \int^{x}_{x-x/H}\Delta^ 2(t) \,dt\ll x^ 2 H^{-1} \log^ 4(H+1)\quad (1\leq H\leq x) \] if the Riemann Hypothesis holds.
