Let \[ R_{\alpha,\beta}f(x,y)=(1/\Gamma (\alpha)\Gamma (\beta))\int^{x}_{0}\int^{y}_{0}(x-s)^{\alpha -1}(y-t)^{\beta -1}f(s,t) ds dt \] \[ (resp.\quad W_{\lambda,\mu}f(x,y)=(1/\Gamma (\lambda)\Gamma (\mu))\int^{\infty}_{x}\int^{\infty}_{y}(s- x)^{\lambda -1}(t-y)^{\mu -1}f(s,t) ds dt), \] the Riemann-Liouville (resp. Weyl) double fractional integral operator \(R_{\alpha,\beta}(resp\). \(W_{\lambda,\mu})\) be defined. Let further \[ I^{h,k}_{\alpha,\beta}f(x,y)=x^{-h-\alpha}y^{-k- \mu}R_{\alpha,\beta}x^ hy^ kf(x,y)\quad and\quad K^{p,q}_{\lambda,\mu}f(x,y)=x^ py^ qW_{\lambda,\mu}x^{-p- \lambda}y^{-q-\mu}f(x,y), \] the present paper proves \(I^{h,k}_{\alpha,\beta}K^{p,q}_{\lambda,\mu}=K^{p,q}_{\lambda, \mu}I^{h,k}_{\alpha,\beta}\) by computing directly the rather intricate expressions thereof. Bringing in the double Mellin transform, it is also shown that \(I^{h,k}_{\alpha,\beta}(f)\) may be written as a double Mellin convolution of f with a certain definite function. Similarly for \(K^{p,q}_{\lambda,\mu}(f).\) The results of this paper will be inferred from the corresponding instances for the simple integral case, though fairly involved to be verified.
