    Consider the following variational problem with mixed boundary conditions: find a minimizing function \(n:\Omega \to R^ N\), \(\Omega =\Omega^ 0\subset R^ n\), \(n\geq 2\), for the integral functional \(\int_{\Omega}f(x,u,Du)dx\) such that \(u=\phi\) on \(\partial \Omega - \Gamma_ 1\), where \(\Gamma_ 1\subset \partial \Omega\) is relatively open and \(u(\Gamma_ 1)\) is contained in a given hyperplane. The author studies the regularity of u on \(\Omega \cup \Gamma_ 1\), i.e. the behavior of the minima ''near'' \(\Gamma_ 1\). For other results, on the interior regularity or boundary regularity of minima, see \textit{M. Giaquinta} and \textit{E. Giusti} [Acta Math. 148, 31-46 (1982; Zbl 0494.49031)] and \textit{J. Jost} and \textit{M. Meier} [Math. Ann. 262, 549-561 (1983; Zbl 0488.49004)] respectively.
