[\textit{L. W. Small} and \textit{J. T. Stafford}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 44, 405-419 (1982; Zbl 0485.16010)] have given a description of the set \({\mathcal C}(0)\) of regular elements of a Noetherian ring R as \(\cap^{n}_{i=1}{\mathcal C}(P_ i)\), where \(P_ 1,...,P_ n\) are the so-called regular prime ideals of R. In this note the authors seek a similar description of the maximal Ore set of regular elements of R, denoted by \(\Sigma\). They use the language of prime links; see [\textit{A. V. Jategaonkar}, Localization in Noetherian rings, Lond. Math. Soc. (to appear) or \textit{K. A. Brown}, Ore sets in Noetherian rings, Séminaire Malliavin, Lect. Notes Math. (to appear)]. Let \(X_ i\) be the link component containing \(P_ i\), and set \(X=\cup^{n}_{i=1}X_ i\). One sees easily that \(\Sigma\) \(\subseteq \cap_{P\in X}{\mathcal C}(P)\). The main result here gives some cases where this inclusion is an equality.
