The main results of this deep paper, giving the local and extended version of some results of W. Stoll and D. Burns [cf. \textit{W. Stoll}, Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci., IV. Ser. 7, 87-154 (1980; Zbl 0438.32005) and \textit{D. Burns,} Ann. Math., II. Ser. 115, 349-373 (1982; Zbl 0507.32011)] on the geometrical properties of the complex homogeneous Monge-Ampère equation, can be formulated as follows. A. The partial connection on the normal bundle of the foliation induced by the hermitian metric \(\partial {\bar \partial}r/r\) coincides with the Bott connection. - B. The complex gradient vector field Z of r with respect to the Kähler metric \(\partial {\bar \partial}r\) satisfies: \((i)\quad \Delta ''r=-n\) (the complex dimension). \((ii)\quad \Delta ''Z=0.\) \((iii)\quad \| {\bar \partial}Z\|^ 2=-S(Z,Z),\) where S is the Ricci tensor. \((iv)\quad Z\quad and\quad \bar Z\) are infinitesimal affine transformations. (v) The curvature of \(\partial {\bar \partial}r\) is invariant along the leaves of the foliation. (vi) If, in addition, Z is holomorphic, then the sectional curvature is zero for any section containing X or JX, where \(X=Z+\bar Z\) is the real gradient vector field of r and J is the complex structure. Then the author gives an alternative proof of the theorem of Stoll without the requirement that r is an exhaustion function. He assumes that the domain in question is simply connected and \(r^{-1}(0)\) consists of exactly one point.
