    A weakly connected system of hyperbolic type is considered: \[ i\partial_ t\left(\begin{matrix} u_ 1(x,t)\\ u_ 2(x,t)\end{matrix} \right)=\left(\begin{matrix} x\\ \epsilon b_ 2(x)\end{matrix} \epsilon b_ 1(x)A(x)i\partial_ x+B(x)\right)\left( \begin{matrix} u_ 1(x,t)\\ u_ 2(x,t)\end{matrix} \right)=L_{\epsilon}u; \] \((u_ 1(x,0), u_ 2(x,0))=(f(x),g(x))\); \(Mu_ 2(0,t)+Nu_ 2(1,t)=0\). Here \(u_ 1\), f scalar functions; \(u_ 2\), g \(m\times 1\)-vector functions; M, N are constant \(m\times m\)-matrices; \(A=A\delta_{ij}\). The domain for the independent variables is \(x\in [0,1],\quad t\in [0,\infty)\). For analytic coefficient functions the spectrum of the differential operator \(L_{\epsilon}\) is investigated. Another aspect is the study of an average function \(v(x,t)=\int_{I}u(y,t)H(x,y)dy\) \((I=[0,1])\) with an analytic kernel \(H(x,y)\). The main term in the asymptotic expansion of v is obtained.
