Properties of the Gibbs potential and the equilibrium of a liquid with its vapor (Q761186)

In this paper the author presents the problem of the thermodynamical equilibrium of a system which consists of a liquid and its vapor separated by a spherical interface. The author gives sufficient conditions on the Gibbs potential to assure the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the jump system. These results are also geometrically formulated and they supply a practical criterion (which is equivalent to a generalization of the Maxwell rule when the interface is plane) to obtain the values of the mass density on the interface.
