Two pro rata warranty models are considered in which the renewal costs during the warranty period depend on the time of failure. In the first model replacements or minimal repairs may be carried out during a fixed warranty period. In the second model the warranty for replaced items is renewed. For both models the expected cost per warranty cycle and the mean cycle length are determined.
