The aim of this investigation is to study the simultaneous effect of (i) large injection and transverse curvature and (ii) magnetic field and transverse curvature on the steady hypersonic flow over a slender body of revolution with strong shock. The non-linear coupled ordinary integro- differential equations governing the flow have been solved numerically using a quasilinear finite-difference scheme, with variable step size for large injection and with constant step size for moderate injection or for magnetic field, which is found to be extremely efficient. The authors observed that the momentum and thermal boundary layer thickness considerably increase with injection rate. Also there is a large reduction in thermal and velocity gradients in the neighbourhood of the surface, but the effect of transverse curvature and magnetic field is just opposite. The magnetic field causes overshoot in the velocity, but the transverse curvature reduces the velocity overshoot. They found that the Lykoudis condition for velocity overshoot due to the magnetic field is not valid for flow with small pressure gradient and transverse curvature.
