For a large class of (generalized) multiparticle Schrödinger operators lower bounds for the spherical average \(| \psi |_ R\) of eigenfunctions \(\psi\) are proven. In particular, if the corresponding eigenvalue lies below the continuum, then \(| \psi |_ R\) is shown to decrease exponentially with rate \(\alpha_ 0\), where \(\alpha_ 0\) is the supremum for all \(\alpha\) such that \(\exp (\alpha | x|)\in L^ 2(\mathbb R^ n)\). A more detailed version of the results studied here appears in the first author's thesis [Lower bounds for solutions of the Schrödinger equation (Univ. Virginia)].
