The author reports on his dissertation at the Technische Hochschule Leuna-Merseburg, proofs are only discussed. Let E be a domain in \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\) with distinct subdomains \(E_ 1,...,E_ n\), u is a solution of the linear parabolic equation \[ \sum a_{ij}(x,t)u_{x_ ix_ j}+\sum b_ i(x,t)u_{x_ i}+c(x,t)u-u_ t=F(x,t) \] with Hölder continuous coefficients. Initial conditions are given for \(t=0\), boundary conditions of first, second, or third type on \(\partial E\), and contact conditions on \(\partial E_ j\) (u has to be continuous there, the normal derivative has to fulfil a jump condition). Using the fundamental solution of the equation the problem is translated into a singular integral equation which is discussed under suitable assumptions. Existence and uniqueness theorems are given.
