Here we extend results of \textit{G. Ceresa}, Ann. Math., II. Ser. 117, 285- 291 (1983; Zbl 0538.14024) and the author and \textit{P. Ellia}, Arch. Math. 43, 244-249 (1984; Zbl 0536.14010) from curve with general moduli to general k-gonal curves for suitable k; for the first paper we can take \(k=3\). The only tool is the compactification of the Hurwitz scheme given by \textit{J. Harris} and \textit{D. Mumford} [Invent. Math. 67, 23-86 (1982; Zbl 0506.14016)].
