This paper is a survey of Borel selection theory for measurable set- valued mappings between metric spaces. We only discuss results that explicitly specify the Borel class of selections. The paper is organized as follows: paragraph three deals with continuous selections. Michael's well known theorem is presented with some of its applications as well as Lindenstrauss' result on continuous selections. Paragraph four deals with extensions of measurable functions. We prove a general result of Maitra and deduce from it the Kuratowski-Ryll Nardzweski theorem and the von Neumann selection lemma. Paragraph five specifically deals with Borel selections. We present results of Ceder and Levi, Jayne and Rogers, and Levi and Maitra. In paragraph six we discuss selections for partitions of polish spaces. Results of Maitra and Rao and of Miller are presented.
