    Let \(R^ n_+=\{(x,t): x\in R^{n-1}, t>0\}\), and for each \(\xi \in R^{n-1}\), \(\gamma\geq 1\) and \(a>0\), let \(T_{\gamma}(\xi,a)=\{(x,t)\in R^ n_+:\| x-\xi \| <at^{1/\gamma}\}\). This paper contains results on the existence of limits of u(x,t) as (x,t)\(\to (\xi,0)\) through \(T_{\gamma}(\xi,a)\) for a polyharmonic function u on \(R^ n_+\). For example, if m is a positive integer, \(\Delta^{m+1}u=0\) on \(R^ n_+\), \[ \iint_{G}| \nabla_ mu(x,t)|^ p t^{\alpha} dx dt<\infty \] with \(p>1\) and \(\alpha <mp-1\) for any bounded open set G in \(\underset \tilde{} R^ n_+\), \((\alpha +1)/p\) is not a positive integer, and \(n-mp+\alpha >0\), then for each \(\gamma >1\) there exists a set \(E_{\gamma}\subseteq \underset \tilde{} R^{n-1}\) such that the \(\gamma (n-mp+\alpha)\)-dimensional Hausdorff measure of \(E_{\gamma}\) is zero and lim u(x,t) as (x,t)\(\to (\xi,0)\) through \(T_{\gamma}(\xi,a)\) exists and is finite for any \(a>0\) and any \(\xi\in \underset \tilde{} R^{n- 1}\setminus E_{\gamma}.\) The results generalize those obtained by \textit{A. B. Cruzeiro} [C.R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 294, 71-74 (1982; Zbl 0495.31003)] for harmonic functions, and can themselves be extended to polyharmonic functions on the special Lipschitz domains of \textit{E. M. Stein} [Singular integrals and differentiability properties of functions (1970; Zbl 0207.135)].
