    The authors discuss the concentration index, not of an entire function but of a subharmonic function. Let \(\mu\) be the Riesz mass of a subharmonic function v in \({\mathbb{R}}^ m\), let \(n(t,x,v)=\mu (\{y; | y-x| \leq t\})\) and set \[ N(r,v)=d_ m\int^{r}_{0}n(t,0,v) t^{1-m} dt,\quad I(x,v)=d_ m\int^{r}_{0}n(t,x,v) t^{1-m} dt, \] where \(d_ m=m-2\) for \(m\geq 3\) and \(d_ 2=1\). I(x,v) is called the concentration index of v at x. Let \(SH_ m^ 0[\rho (r)]\) be the class of subharmonic functions v in \({\mathbb{R}}^ m\) such that v are of zeroth proximate order \(\rho\) (r) and \(n(r,0,v)=o(r^{\rho (r)+m-2})\) as \(r\to \infty\). The main result is that if \(u=u_ 1-u_ 2\), \(u_ i\in SH^ 0_ m[\rho (r)]\), \(i=1,2\), then \[ u(x)=(N(r,u_ 1)-I(x,u_ 1))- (N(r,u_ 2)-I(x,u_ 2))+o(r^{\rho (r)}). \]
