This note illustrates the use of various partial orderings for point processes by comparing inhomogeneous Poisson processes, and studies the relationships among these orderings mainly in the case of inhomogeneous Poisson processes. Whitt has detailed several definitions of partial orderings which have been applied mainly to renewal processes [see, e.g., \textit{W. Whitt}, Adv. Appl. Probab. 13, 207-220 (1981; Zbl 0449.60064) and \textit{D. R. Miller}, Math. Oper. Res. 4, 406-413 (1979; Zbl 0418.60087)] and semi-Markov processes [see, e.g., \textit{D. Sonderman}, Adv. Appl. Probab. 11, 439-447 (1979; Zbl 0398.60092)].
