A Finsler space \((M, F)\) is called a Douglas space (resp. Berwald space) if there is a Riemannian metric \(g\) on \(M\) such that the geodesics of \((M, F)\) and \((M, g)\) coincide as point sets (resp. as parametrized curves). In this paper, the authors characterize Douglas Ricci flat \((\alpha,\beta)\)-metrics. Applying a previous computation of the quantities by the authors and \textit{Z. Shen} [Isr. J. Math., \url{doi:10.1007/s11856-012-0036-x}], they prove that an \((\alpha,\beta)\)-metric of the Randers type is a Ricci flat Douglas metric if and only if it is a Berwald metric and \(\alpha\) is Ricci flat. In the final part of the paper, the authors consider \((\alpha, \beta)\)-metrics of non-Randers type and give a characterization of the Ricci-flat Douglas metrics among them when \(\dim M\geq 3\).
