Genus and braid index associated to sequences of renormalizable Lorenz maps (Q765062)

The paper describes the Lorenz links in \(S^3\) generated by renormalizable Lorenz maps with reducible kneading invariants of the form \[ (K_f^-, K_f^+)=(X,Y) \ast (S,W) \] in terms of the links corresponding to the factors. Using this result the authors obtain explicit formulae for the genus and braid index of renormalizable Lorenz knots and links. The authors also discuss some applications of their results.
