Veech groups, irrational billiards and stable Abelian differentials (Q765088)

The dynamical properties of rational angled polygonal billiards and the arising Veech groups are well-investigated. In this article, the author sets out to study the Veech groups of flat surfaces that arise from irrational angled polygonal billiards. He proves that these groups are non-discrete subgroups of \(\mathrm{SO}(2,\mathbb{R})\) and he determines their rank.
