Given \(M\in \mathbb{C}^{n\times n}\), \(z\in \mathbb{C}\) and \(z_{0}\) an eigenvalue of \(M\), the authors analyze the asymptotic behavior of the singular values of the characteristic matrix \(zI_{n}-M\) when \(z\rightarrow z_{0}\). Let \(A,B\in \mathbb{C}_{n\times n}\). The authors prove a theorem assuming that for each \(z\in \mathbb{C}\) the singular values of \(zI_{n}-A\) are the same as those of \(zI_{n}-B\), \(A\) and \(B\) are similar matrices. Then they give an extension of this theorem and they establish the geometric pseudospectra \(\bigwedge_{\varepsilon ,k}^{(g)}(A)\) for \(\varepsilon\) small enough and determine its invariant factors.
