The authors consider the following weakly coupled semilinear parabolic system \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=d\Delta u+v^p\quad &\text{ in } \quad \Omega\times\mathbb R_+,\\\frac{\partial v}{\partial t}=D\Delta v+u^q\quad &\text{ in } \quad \Omega\times\mathbb R_+.\end{cases}\tag{1} \] Here \(\Omega\subset \mathbb R^n\) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary. In order to formulate (1) as an abstract system, the authors introduce the following notations \[ U=\begin{pmatrix} u\\v\end{pmatrix},\quad \mathcal AU=\begin{pmatrix} d\Delta u\\D\Delta v\end{pmatrix},\quad \mathcal F(U)=\begin{pmatrix} v^p\\u^q\end{pmatrix}. \] Then, they rewrite system (1) as \[ \frac{d U}{d t}-\mathcal AU=\mathcal F(U)\tag{2} \] and put the following generalized Wentzell boundary condition \[ \mathcal AU+b(x)\frac{\partial U}{\partial\nu}+c(x)U=0\quad \text{ on } \quad \partial\Omega,\tag{3} \] where \(b\) and \(c\) are nonnegative smooth functions on \(\partial\Omega\) with \(b\) strictly positive, \(b(x)\geq b_0>0\). First, the authors prove that the closure of the operator \(\mathcal A\) generates a \(C_0\) analytic semigroup on an appropriate Hilbert space. Then, they investigate the local existence of the solution of problem (2)--(3) with standard initial conditions at \(t=0\) and derive a sufficient condition under which the solution is global. Finally, they study the blow-up property of the solution.
