Let \(N\geq2\) be a natural number and let \(V\) be the Sierpinski gasket in \({\mathbb R}^{N-1}\) with \(V_0\) its intrinsic boundary. The paper deals with the following one-parameter Dirichlet problem \(\Delta u(x)+a(x)u(x)=\lambda g(x)f(u(x))\), if \(x\in V\setminus V_0\), and \(u(x)=0\), if \(x\in V_0\), where \(\Delta\) denotes the weak Laplace operator on \(V\), the functions \(a,\,g: V\to{\mathbb R}\), \(f: {\mathbb R}\to{\mathbb R}\) satisfy certain conditions, and \(\lambda\) is a positive real parameter. Using a general variational principle by \textit{B. Ricceri} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 113, No. 1--2, 401--410 (2000; Zbl 0946.49001)], the authors prove that if the nonlinearity \(f\) has an oscillatory behavior near the origin and if the parameter \(\lambda\) belongs to a certain open interval, then there exists a sequence \((u_k)\) of pairwise distinct weak solutions of the above mentioned problem such that \(\lim_{k\to\infty} \|u_k\|=0\).
